The material.

Two crops, one elastane, no coatings. It's the same cloth our wholesale arm sells by the case.

Why hemp

Long fibre, so it resists pilling and abrasion. Grown without synthetic pesticides, mostly rain-fed, mechanically processed — no acid bath.

Why organic cotton

Softness and dye uptake. GOTS-certified, combed and ring-spun, milled in audited facilities with wastewater treatment.

Why no coating

No PU membrane, no PFAS finish, no spray-on "moisture management". The knit breathes because of the fibre, not a chemistry set.

Sizing.

Body measurements in centimetres, taken flat. Every piece has 2–4 cm of ease built in. Between sizes? Down in the jersey, up in the loopback.

Care.

Cotton–hemp behaves like a good pair of jeans: it gets better with washing, as long as you don't fight it.

Cold wash

Machine wash cold on a normal cycle. Heat is what shrinks a knit and fades an undyed colour.

No softener

Softener coats the fibre and kills the wicking. If it feels stiff after the first wash, that's the hemp relaxing — give it two more.

Line dry

Hang it. A dryer on low is fine, but the elastic in waistbands lasts years longer without one.

The short version

One fabric, six years, no shortcuts.

In 2020 we couldn't find activewear that performed without a shelf of synthetics, so we had a small run made from a cotton–hemp knit instead. Five hundred pairs, sold out of a garage in East Van.

Six years later the fabric hasn't changed — organic cotton for softness, hemp for strength, a little elastane so it moves. The runs are still small, because making less is the whole point.

Questions.

The ones that come up most, answered without the runaround.

Do you sell to the public, or wholesale only?

Wholesale. Runs are 200–500 per piece and go to shops, gyms and brands. Email with the pieces and quantities you want and we'll quote you.

Why isn't there a price on the page?

Because a 50-piece order and a 500-piece order aren't the same price. One email gets you a real number rather than a list we'd have to caveat.

Is this actually warm enough for Vancouver winters?

The 340 gsm loopback is a genuine mid-layer — warmer than a cotton hoodie, lighter than wool. The 180 gsm jersey is a summer piece.

Does hemp feel scratchy?

Not at these blend ratios. The scratch people remember comes from coarse, low-blend hemp fabric. Here cotton carries the hand-feel and hemp sits underneath doing the durability work.

Will it shrink?

About a centimetre in length after the first wash, then it stops. We cut with that allowance built in.
